Environmental, Senior Project Manager

We are seeking a Environmental, Senior Project Manager to join our Houston, TX team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing a diverse range of environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance projects.
  • Perform tasks and project assignments associated with environmental assessments, hydrogeological studies, subsurface investigations, Conceptual Site Models, remedial designs, and compliance.
  • Serve as group leader, overseeing and delegating to a team of scientists, geologists, and engineers.
  • Maintaining and developing existing client relationships.
  • Assisting in business development efforts with potential clients
  • Training, managing, and mentoring junior staff.
  • Client management; preparing proposals, including job scopes, budgets, and invoicing.
  • Project management; coordination of field programs and schedules.
  • Prepare technical work plans and reports applying knowledge of natural sciences (geology, hydrology, chemistry, etc.) to explain observations.
  • Support of Senior Project Managers and Principals on projects and with clients by participating in new client/project development via completion of proposals, client meetings, etc.
  • Develop/train staff to meet project needs.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with Atlas policies and procedures.
  • Complete Atlas' internal Project Manager Training & Certification Program.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Geology/hydrogelogy, Environmental Enginnering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience performing and managing soil and groundwater investigations and remediation, developing work plans and budget estimates, monitoring and maintaining project budgets and schedules through project lifecycle, managing subcontractors and field staff, analyzing data, and preparing technical project deliverables.
  • Environmental project manager with consulting and staff leadership experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of TRRP, CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, and PST/LPST rules and regulations.
  • Texas Professional Geologist or Engineer License.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • 7. 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification.

Technical requirements:

  • Solid knowledge of geologic and environmental concepts (e.g., stratigraphy, geological processes, hydrogeology, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of standard operating procedures and guidance documents for environmental assessments in Texas (Texas Risk Reduction Program, ASTM standard for Phase 1 ESAs, PST/LSPT program, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobbe, and other widely used computer programs.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple activities in a fast paced consulting environment with ability of meet internal and external with deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a high level of troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time.
  • Valid US Driver's license without restrictions.
