Job Description

As an Atlas CMT Technician, you will support our construction materials testing team by performing field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials on active construction projects. You will represent Atlas in the field by providing accurate testing, clear documentation, and dependable communication to help our clients maintain quality throughout construction.

Core Responsibilities

  • Travel to a variety of project and construction sites, supporting work that helps keep communities and infrastructure moving forward.
  • Collect soil, concrete, asphalt, and other material samples for testing and analysis.
  • Observe construction activities and field conditions to help ensure quality standards and project requirements are met.
  • Perform field quality assurance testing in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily reports that document testing results, observations, and project progress.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, engineers, and other design professionals to support successful project delivery.

You’ll thrive here if you have

  • At least 1 year of experience in the construction, materials testing, or inspection industry.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, project specifications, and testing procedures.
  • Working knowledge of concrete, soils, aggregate base, and asphalt pavement materials.
  • Experience supporting highway, roadway, or building construction projects is preferred.
  • A proven ability to work effectively with contractors, project owners, and other stakeholders to keep projects moving forward.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed (approximately 20% travel).
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to complete accurate electronic reports using field-based database systems on a daily basis.
  • Current ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification, or the ability to obtain it after hire.
  • Current SB-102 and HMAC 1B certifications, or the ability to obtain them after hire.
  • The ability to obtain any required certifications within six months of joining the team.
  • Additional certifications such as SB-101, ACI Strength Testing, 1A, 1B, or similar industry credentials are a plus.

About the Job

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: $18.00 - $26.00 hourly rate
    The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
